External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Friday said that India will grant medical visas to an ailing Pakistani man who requires a liver transplant, along with a three-year-old girl from the country who also is in need of an open heart surgery. A man named Uzair Humayun from Lahore wrote to Swaraj on Twitter requesting for her intervention in granting a medical visa for his three-year-old daughter who needs an open heart surgery. Heeding to his request, Swaraj replied, “We are issuing the visa for the open heart surgery of your 3-year-old daughter in India. We also pray for her speedy recovery here.”

Swaraj also responded to Noorma Habib when she asked for a medical visa for her father who she said needs an urgent liver transplant. Habib took to Twitter and reached out to Swaraj for help. She wrote, “@SushmaSwaraj we applied for indian medical visa for the liver transplant of my father he is in bad condition. We will be thankful to u. Plz help.” To which the Minister of External Affairs positively replied, “Yes, Noorma. We are allowing visa for the liver transplant of your father in India. We wish him a successful surgery and a long life.”

Here is how Twitterati reacted to this gesture from the Union Minister:

This is not the first time when Swaraj has granted visas to the Pakistani nationals. As per the report by PTI, she has been sympathetically considering medical visa applications from scores of people from the neighbouring country notwithstanding the strain in the relationship between the two countries over a host of issues.
