Jaipur: Government of Rajasthan will offer all possible support and cooperation in further accelerating the growth and spread of green buildings in the state, said Ashok Jain, IAS, chief secretary, Government of Rajasthan, on the concluding day of CII-IGBC Green Building Congress-2017.
"Green buildings have gained momentum, indicating significant interest and demand. To further facilitate the growth, there is a need for architects and consultants to advise the developers on the long-term benefits of implementing green building concepts. The government will extend all possible support to the stakeholders in promoting green buildings," said Jain.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Parasu Raman R, chairman, Green Products & Services Council & founding chairman, IGBC, said that Indian ready mix concrete industry is embracing green concepts. This will reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions by 1.5 lakh tons per year. CII along with Ready Mix Concrete Manufacturing Association, Quality Council of India and International Finance Corporation is developing GreenPro Certification for ready mix concrete, he said.
The conference also featured concurrent sessions on affordable housing, green schools and green hospitals. The session on green hospitals was aimed at highlighting the importance and benefits of incorporating green features in hospitals which would result in faster recovery, energy management and less generation of waste.
