If you keep forgetting passwords, worry no more. Scientists from the University of Buffalo have developed a new computer security system that scans the dimensions of your heart to open up, just as your fingerprint can unlock your phone. According to the university press release, the system uses a low-level Doppler radar to measure your heart (in about 8 seconds) and then continually monitors your heart to make sure it’s still you using the computer. It can be a better alternative to passwords and other biometric devices and could be used for smartphones and screening barricades. The technology will be presented at the 23rd Annual International Conference on Mobile Computing and Communication (MobiCom) in Utah.
