MYSURU: Days after Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that he would contest his “last election” from Chamundeshwari constituency that gave him his political rebirth, JD(S) leader G T Deve Gowda said the seat will also “end his political career in 2018”.People are waiting to teach Siddaramaiah a lesson for the underdevelopment of the constituency, said Gowda.Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Gowda said Chamundeshwari is his karma bhoomi and ruled out any possibility of joining the Congress.

Claiming that the constituency is a stronghold of the JD(S), Gowda dimissed rumours of him joining Congress and his son Harish contesting from Hunsur. He said Siddarmaiah came in his way of his becoming cooperation minister in the Congress-JD(S) government headed by N Dharam Singh. Clarifying that he has not met Siddaramaiah in the last four years for any personal work, he accused the Kuruba strongman of working against the Congress candidate in the last Lok Sabha elections.

Gowda charged that Siddramaiah is always greedy to grab everything that comes his way. “How did the Chief Minister mobilise resources to fight Nanjangud and Gundlupet bypolls?” he said.
Criticising the Chief Minister for “throwing out” former MP A H Vishwanath who brought him to the Congress fold, Gowda sought to know what happened to Mukudappa who started AHINDA and brought Siddaramaiah to its fold.

Former Minister A H Vishwanath said he is ready to take on former MP C H Vijayshankar or Siddaramaiah from Hunsur. “When I am in a battlefield, I will be ready to fight against anyone,” he said.
Asked about Siddaramaiah’s plan to field Vijayshanker from Hunsur, Vishwanath said he is ready to face the challenge.
