Banwarilal Purohit, who was sworn in as the Governor of Tamil Nadu on Friday said that all decisions he would take in office would be on merits and there would be “no political considerations” and would see “total transparency and cleanliness” in the government.
In a brief interaction with journalists soon after the swearing-in ceremony at the Raj Bhavan, Mr. Purohit said his actions would be guided by the Constitution and he would preserve and protect it at all costs.
“All the decisions, which I am going to take, small or big, [there] will be no political consideration.. Governor’s office above politics everybody can be rest assured.. All the decisions will be on merits,” he said.
The Governor asserted that he would “wholeheartedly” support the State government in its development activities and use his influence in Delhi for the State's welfare. “I will use my influence in Delhi. I have my good friends in almost all the Ministries. I will see that lot of development takes place, more funds are provided to our Tamil Nadu.. I will try my level best.”
Mr. Purohit maintained that he would ensure “total transparency” and “cleanness” in administration. “That is my job to observe,” he added
The Governor also extended his 'greetings to ''all sisters and brothers of Tamil Nadu.''
