  Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu first time worked together in the film Ye Maaya Chesave in 2010. During the shooting of the film, the duo became best friends of each other. Interestingly, their chemistry in the role of Karthik and Jessie had created a storm at the box office. But in real life, they were not too serious to take their relationship beyond friendship.

  At that point of time, Naga Chaitanya was dating Shruti Haasan while Samantha was dating Siddharth. However, after getting split from their respective partners, they become close to each other and started spending a lot of time together.

He said in an interview, “Amala and I are very happy for Chaitanya who has found someone who makes him happy. We’ll be making the announcement very soon.”

  Finally, in 2016, the day came where Naga-Samantha finally made their relationship official. Samantha announced, “Chay (Naga Chaitanya) and I are in a relationship and the reason we’re not talking about marriage is because even the immediate family would know about the wedding only three months before. Why should I talk about marriage to the media when there’s still time? We have our parents’ blessings and there’s nothing to hide. We have a friendship and relationship as long as my career – right from my first film. I’m extremely happy. And no, the wedding is not in 2016.”

  Samantha and Naga Chaitanya officially got engaged to each other on January 29, 2017. While talking about their personal journey and relationship, Samantha said, “From 2009, there have been times when I wanted to work on the relationship and he was not ready and there have been times, when he wanted to work on the relationship and I wasn’t ready. Finally, we came to a point where, thank God, both of us wanted it equally.”
