Google Assistant has come to the Play Store soon after the company hosted its Google Hardware event in San Francisco on Wednesday. Google Assistant is the voice-based virtual assistant which helps users do several things on their smartphones just by talking. However, before you get too happy about it, not everyone can use the Google Assistant app right now. The Google Assistant on Android is like the one on Apple iOS in most ways, except the fact that it is a part of Android’s Search app and Play services. In iPhones, it is present as a separate application. But now, on Android too, the Assitant will be present on the Play Store to download, but only those people can use it, whose smartphones already support the feature.
What does this mean? Now, you will be able to use the Google Assitant by going directly to the app, instead of pressing the Home button on your mobile for long. If you have to use the Google Assistant, you will have to be updated to Google Search v7.11 or higher. The smart digital assistant helps in carrying out key tasks like running search results, saving documents, and more.

It also has to be noted that Google, at the Pixel 2 launch event, also announced new features for the Google Assistant. One of the main new features includes Google Assistant Actions, that helps in payments. Google has also brought Assistant Apps for Families which help in the US’ Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act.
