The Supreme Court on Friday refused to stay hearing over the AIADMK symbol row in the Election Commission of India. TTV Dinakaran had moved the Supreme Court seeking a stay and more time to file affidavits in the row.
The court refused any respite to Dinakaran and asked the ECI to resume hearing in the case starting 4 PM on Friday. The Supreme Court also extended the deadline to dispose of the case till November 10. The Madras High Court had asked the ECI to decide on who gets the AIADMK's Two-leaves symbol before the end of October.

TTV Dinakaran had first approached the EC and then the Madras High Court but his pleas were rejected. Dinakaran who has staked claim to the AIADMK symbol had sought additional time to file affidavits in support of his claim.
The ECI is scheduled to restart the hearing in the AIADMK symbol row on Friday. The Madras High court has asked the ECI to dispose of the case by the end of October but the same has been extended by the Supreme Court. O Panneerselvam and Edappadi Palanisamy have told the ECI that both their factions have merged to become a united AIADMK and hence should be given the symbol and party name.
