Debutant India will kick start their FIFA U-17 campaign on Friday against formidable USA in the first group match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Interestingly, this will be Team India’s first outing in an FIFA event in any group age. And the excitement for first FIFA event for Indian team and to make things even better, for it to be played in the country, has everyone enthralled. With few hours to go for the tournament to kick off, things have reached fever pitch.
The first day will be the test for the preparations and also of the Indian team who get their campaign underway on Friday. On this historic day, cricketers, celebrities and Indian football stars took to their official social media handle to wish young Indian U-17 football team for the tournament. India women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj, former India batsmen VVS Laxman and commentator Harsha Bhogle extended their wishes and support for the Indian team.
