With fall in employment under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, migration in search of work has begun again in Andhra Pradesh, senior YSRC leader Botcha Satyanarayana has said.
He alleged that such a situation had arisen as the funds received were cornered by the TDP leaders, depriving relief to the needy under the scheme.
At a press conference here on Thursday, he said that the rural job scheme had turned into asset guarantee scheme for the TDP leaders at various levels.
The Chief Minister himself told officials in a teleconference that during the Intintiki TDP programme people were asked about NREGS works.
The credit for increasing the NREGS work from 100 to 150 days went to former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, he claimed.
Charge denied
Mr. Satyanarayana rebutted the charge that the YSRC leaders were obstructing development by making complaints to the Union Government. He alleged that the TDP leaders complained against the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Government for advancing ₹3,500 towards Indiramma houses.
Party district president Gudivada Amarnath and leaders Prasada Reddy and Nagi Reddy were among those present.
