Silver falls Rs 34 on profit-booking

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Silver prices fell Rs 34 to Rs 39,747 per kg in futures trade today as participants reduced exposure to book profits at existing levels.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March next year lost Rs 34, or 0.09 per cent, to Rs 39,747 per kg, in a business turnover of 13 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in December was trading lower by Rs 26, or 0.07 per cent, to Rs 39,146 per kg in a business volume of 430 lots.

In the international market, silver edged up 0.09 per cent to USD 16.59 an ounce in today.

Traders said the fall in silver prices at futures trade was largely due to profit-booking by participants at current levels but a firm trend overseas squeezed the fall.
