Government working on new textile policy, says Maharashtra Textile minister, asks for suggestions

Stating that the government is working on a new textile policy for 2017-2022, Textile Minister Subhash Deshmukh asked industries to give suggestions for the policy.  Deshmukh was speaking at a CII conference on Achieving Sustainable Growth in Textile & Apparel Industry on Friday.

He said textile companies, as part of their social responsibility, should come forward to set up garment units in rural areas. If textile companies adopt villages to set up garment units, it will help in a big way in the nation’s development, he said.
