FULL TIME - India lose 0-3 to USA in their opening Group A match
India lost the historic first ever FIFA World Cup match 0-3 to USA at Nehru stadium in New Delhi on Friday. USA dominated the match in all aspect, which was evident from the scoreline, but India too had their share of chances with Anwar Ali hitting the woodwork in the 83rd minute. Josh Sargent (30'), Chris Durkin (51') and Andrew Carleton (84') are the goalscorers for the USA. The third goal was on counter-attack soon after Ali hit the bar while Durkin's goal was a deflection. Even the first goal by USA skipper was through a penalty-kick, which seemed a little harsh decision against the hosts.
We would really like to make history for the Indian football. Players are also involved in the process
