More rains for State

BHUBANESWAR: A cyclonic circulation lying over Bay of Bengal is likely to turn into a low pressure and trigger heavy rains across coastal and southern districts in the next 72 hours.
The cyclonic circulation is currently located over East Central Bay of Bengal. The India Meteorological Department said, it is likely to concentrate into a low pressure in the next 24 hours.Under impact of the system, heavy rainfall is likely over coastal and southern pockets of the State. The showers will continue for two days and once the system enters the land, it will shift to interior and western regions.
The system, from its current location, will move over Paradip-Puri axis and head over to interior pockets of the State moving in a north-west direction. “From October 7 onwards, the rainfall intensity might drop over coastal pockets. The showers across the State will continue till October 9 although with lesser intensity,” Director, IMD, Odisha, Sarat Chandra Sahoo said. Currently, the pressure around the system is about 1005-07 millibar. Unless it drops below 1000 millibar, intensity of rain may not go up.
