BLOEMFONTEIN: Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bowl first in the second test against South Africa on Friday.

Bangladesh opted to bowl first in the series opener and it backfired, conceding 496-3 declared as South Africa took advantage and went on to win.

This time, a greenish Bloemfontein pitch appeared to offer more for the Bangladesh bowlers at the start of the game.

Bangladesh shook up its team with four changes. Tamim Iqbal is injured, so Soumya Sarkar replaced him as an opening batsman. Bowlers Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed and Shafiul Islam were all dropped and replaced by Taijul Islam, Rubel Hossain and Subashis Roy.

South Africa had one injury-enforced change, with Wayne Parnell coming in for fast bowler Morne Morkel, who has a side strain.

Lineups:

South Africa: Faf du Plessis (captain), Dean Elgar, Aiden Markram, Hashim Amla, Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock, Andile Phehlukwayo, Wayne Parnell, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Duanne Olivier.

Bangladesh: Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Mominul Haque, Mahmudullah, Sabbir Rahman, Liton Das, Taijul Islam, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Subashis Roy.
