PANAJI: Huawei's sub-brand Honor on Thursday launched Honor 9i smartphone with four cameras and bezel-less display -- the industry's first such device -- in India at Rs 17,999 which would be available exclusively on Flipkart, starting October 14.

This is the first smartphone in India to come with dual camera set-up at both the rear and front, and with an aspect ratio of 18:9 for an immersive viewing experience.

The phone features 5.9-inch full HD+ display and is topped with 2.5D curved glass.

The 16MP dual-lens primary camera comes with flash. There is 13MP + 13MP front camera set-up at the front with "selfie toning" flash.

"We are thrilled to launch a phone which can be termed a global first, as the Honor 9i is the only phone to boast of two dual cameras and FullView FHD+ display. We remain committed to bringing best-in-class devices and services to our users in India," Peter Zhai, President, Huawei India Consumer Business Group, told reporters here.

The device runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating system (OS) with Huawei's custom EMUI 5.1 skin on top.

Honor 9i is powered by the company's home-grown Hisilicon Kirin 659 chipset.

"With the launch of Honor 9i, we have ushered in 4-camera technology which is widely acclaimed for its excellent selfies and low light photography capabilities. We view Honor 9i as a never-before opportunity for consumers who wish to experience an outstanding product," noted P Sanjeev, Vice President, Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group.

Honor 9i sports 64GB internal storage with 4GB RAM.

Honor9i also features the company's proprietary "Huawei Histen" audio system and also supports Bluetooth aptX for better audio quality and enhanced synchronisation between audio and video.

The device is powered by 3,340mAh battery.

Honor 9i has been launched in Aurora Blue, Graphite Black and Gold colour variants.

The company also announced the launch of a 10,000mAh Quick Charge Power Bank. Priced at Rs 2399, the power bank will be available exclusively on hihonorstore.in.

Honor Mediapad T3 and Mediapad T3 10 tablets were also introduced with Android Nougat OS and 4G LTE connectivity. The tablets would be available on Flipkart.
