Penn State suspends fraternity after student found unconscious

University officials have suspended Delta Tau Delta on an interim basis after an 18-year-old student suspected of drinking was found unconscious near campus. Linda So reports.

Penn State investigating yet another fraternity. This time after an 18-year-old student suspected of drinking was found unconscious and had to be hospitalized. Police found him passed out off campus near the Delta Tau Delta House. The incident comes just months after Timothy Piazza died during an alcohol hazing ritual. SOUNDBITE: BRYAN BUSCHNER, STUDENT, SAYING: "It's a common thing in college campuses whether the Greek life if you're talking about drinking there's a lot of drinking on college campuses in this country." University officials have suspended the fraternity on an interim basis. The office of student conduct is investigating who provided the underage student with alcohol. The university has already imposed a ban on all Penn State fraternities prohibiting alcohol during social events following Piazza's February death. The student at the center of this latest incident is recovering in hospital.
