Govt to form panel for fresh survey of Ninder farmers’ land

Jaipur: The Jaipur Development Commissioner (JDC) Vaibhav Galeriya accepted the demand of Ninder village farmers to conduct a fresh survey of their land on the basis of five points.
It was informed, a committee will be constituted comprising district collector, JDA officials and Ninder farmers to carry out fresh survey.
Farmers, who have taken 'zameen samadhi' demanding de-acquisition of land, alleged that previous governments acquired their land after conducting a 'misleading' survey. On Wednesday, they demanded a committee should be constituted comprising JDA officials and farmers of Ninder village to carry out fresh survey.
Farmers demanded, the committee should cover all the hamlets and housing colonies developed on acquired land of Ninder village. A report estimating minimum need of every family members should also be prepared. The committee should also assess the cost of structures which will be damaged during acquisition.
The farmers have also demanded to assess the income of the families and impact on their lives after land acquisition. Nagendra Singh, coordinator, Ninder Bacho Kisan Yuva Samiti, said, "The JDC has accepted our demand to constitute committee. Its a positive sign for farmers. However, we will not call off our protest, till be receive anything concrete."
Meanwhile, the unique protest staged by the farmers reached fourth day. Number of farmers staging 'Satyagrah' is doubled over the past three days. More than 45 farmers are on unconventional protest "Zameen Samadhi Satyagrah" under which they are sitting in burrows and trenches to insist on their attachment to the land. In a meeting with JDC farmers assured no more people would join the protest.
The JDA has proposed a second largest residential scheme at Sikar road over 1350 bighas. Out of which nearly 1,100 is to be acquired from private holders. Among these 800 bighas are fields of local farmers.
