NEW DELHI: Selling in shares of State Bank of India (down 1.48 per cent), IDBI Bank Ltd. (down 0.57 per cent), Andhra Bank (down 0.26 per cent), Bank of India (down 0.22 per cent) and Oriental Bank of Commerce (down 0.12 per cent) dragged Nifty PSU Bank index lower in Thursday's trade, even as other components of the index were gaining in trade.

The Nifty PSU Bank was trading 0.90 per cent down at 3,013 around 12:30 pm (IST).

Benchmark Nifty50 index was 0.11 per cent down at 9,904, while Sensex was 0.08 per cent down at 31,647 around that time.

Shares of Punjab National Bank (up 1.08 per cent), Syndicate Bank (up 0.47 per cent), Union Bank of India (up 0.44 per cent) and Bank of Baroda (up 0.18 per cent) were among the top gainers in the Nifty PSU Bank index.

Among the 51 stocks in Nifty index, 22 were trading in green, while 28 were in red.

Shares of SBI, YES Bank, NTPC, PowerGrid, Axis Bank, Ashok Leyland, ICICI Bank, Aurobindo Pharm, ITC, Idea Cellular, Bank of Baroda, DLF, PNB, Infosys, Tata Motors, RIL, NHPC, REC, ONGC, Sun Pharma were among the most traded securities on NSE.

On the NSE, 948 stocks were advancing, compared with 674 stocks declining and 340 stocks remaining unchanged.

On the BSE, 1,391 stocks were advancing whereas 1,044 stocks were lagging and 106 stocks were appearing unchanged.
