KOCHI: In a major haul, the City Police on Wednesday seized about 350 Amphetamine tablets, a drug of abuse, worth `15 lakh and arrested a Kozhikode native in connection with the same.
The police officers said Mohammed Wazir, 26, from North Beypore is the arrested. “An inquiry is on to trace the Kozhikode native who is working in Gulf and who allegedly supplied drugs to Wazir,” said the officers.

They said the drug was used in Freedom Blast, a rave party held in Goa in August. The sleuths got clues about Wazir after a person was arrested with a few Amphetamine tablets, allegedly brought in the city for a rave party slated to be conducted in a hotel here. The police officers said the drug was being smuggled into the state from Dubai after peddling it in Goa via flights. The accused used to sell a strip of 10 tablets for `50,000. Based on the information, DJ parties in the city were under the City Shadow Police scanner. A team led by SI Honey K Das arrested Wazir.
