Bhopal: A total of 710 jail warders participated in passing out parade that marked the end of their training and beginning of a new journey at the Motilal Nehru stadium on Wednesday.

Tears of joy rolled down their cheeks as the jail warders of 2016 batch reunited with their family members after completing their strenuous training. The jail warder Shriya Dubey, who hails from Jabalpur, always wanted to join force as her grandfather was in police. However, to her disappointment, none of her family members were there to see her in the uniform. “This is my first step to self-reliance, my big future is waiting, my mother and father could not attend the function, but I will celebrate the event with my other friends,” she exclaimed.

Shivpuri girl, Rashmi Jain, had another reason to join the force “I had done B.Ed and wanted to become teacher, but when the jail warder vacancy was announced, I decided to join it, because I wanted to break the myth and prove that Jain community girl can also become part of MP jail force,” she said. Even she was saddened on not finding any one from her family at the function.

Khushbu Sharma, resident of Gwalior and the only girl in the family informed “My parents always treated me as a boy, to prove them right I decided to wear uniform and I passed the exam”. “But due to unknown reasons my family did not came to attend the function,” she added.

The father of Cecilia Mathew, Nicolas Mathew resident of Itarsi, was very proud that her only daughter had become the jail warder. “I was selected for the sub inspector post, but did not get the appointment letter for unknown reason, but I had proved that I am capable to hit the target, my elder brother is also serving in CRPF,” she added. Manorama Mishra, mother of Diksha Mishra was happy to see her daughter donning the uniform. She has become jail warder and has joined the family heritage, said her mother.

My uncle and father ensured that I was physically fit to join forces and now I have become a jail warder,” Siksha said.
