Chef: Five reasons to watch this Saif Ali Khan starrer
Saif Ali Khan's upcoming release Chef is getting all the attention of movie-buffs for its interesting plot and unique concept. Based on the Hollywood hit film of the same name by Jon Favreau, Chef is releasing on October 6 amid huge expectations. Helmed by Raja Krishna Menon, Chef will explore the tale of a professional chef who abandons his job to set up a food-truck business of his own. Here are five reasons why you should give this flick a watch this weekend.
The first reason is definitely Saif Ali Khan itself. Though Saif is one of the most bankable actors of Bollywood, it's been quite some time since he delivered a hit. His last role as a film producer in Rangoon also failed to woo fans. But considering Saif's exceptional repertoire in the past, we know that he can carry the most unique character with ease. Will he live up to our expectations this time?
Chef is an official remake of the 2014 Jon Favreau film by the same name. Directed by Raja Krishna Menon, it explores the story of a burnt-out chef who gives up his high profile job for a food truck business with his son. Though father-son relationships have previously been explored in Bollywood, a movie on a chef is rare.
Third reason for watching Chef and why it could be a hit is Saif Ali Khan coming back to the role of a doting father after so many years. Previously, Saif has donned a few fatherly roles but this time he has a teenager on his hands. It will be interesting to see how the 47-year-old actor portrays the character.
Chef also stars popular south Indian actress Padmapriya, playing a dance teacher. Saif Ali Khan's pairing with her is quite charming. But that's not all. Chef also features comic legend Russell Peters and musician Raghu Dixit in cameos. Reports also suggest Kareena Kapoor Khan will have a special appearance in the film. And as much as we love to see Saifeena together in real life, it's time we get some reel life dose of the two as well.
After the keep your brains at home fare Judwaa 2, Saif Ali Khan's Chef comes as a welcome relief.
