All roads lead to Fatorda stadium tomorrow

Panaji: South Goa traffic police have assigned two parking spots for general ticket holders ahead of the Fifa U-17 World Cup matches that will be held at the Jawarharlal Nehru Stadium, Fatorda, on October 7, 10, 13, 17 and 21. The total capacity of both parking areas is 1,310 cars and 1,210 two-wheelers.
Ticket holders travelling on NH 17 from Vasco, Panaji and Mapusa, will be diverted towards Margao's Ravindra Bhavan via the old market circle. They will be allowed to park their vehicles at the SGPDA ground opposite Osia Multiplex, the SGPDA pickup stand, the SAG football ground, the Ravindra Bhavan, and the Joggers Park, DySP (traffic) for South Goa, Prabodh Shirvoikar, said.
Those travelling via Margao town from Quepem, Cuncolim, Colva etc, will enter through the Abade Faria Road, come to the old market circle and proceed to park in the same areas.
Ticket holders coming in from Ponda or Raia will enter through Arlem circle towards Fatorda via state highway (SH) 5, and proceed towards the PWD office. They will subsequently be diverted towards Don Bosco College and the We For Fatorda ground to facilitate parking of their vehicles.
The SH 5 stretch from the PWD office to the swimming pool circle will be closed for general vehicular traffic. Only vehicles of pass/ticket holders will be allowed to proceed towards the parking lots, i.e. near Joggers Park.
General traffic will be diverted onto the Nuvem bypass/Eastern bypass to proceed towards destinations in South Goa.
"Fatorda-bound traffic coming in from Margao town, will be stopped at Borda and diverted via the Big Foot circleEastern bypass. The stretch of road from Davandem to Arlem will be temporarily closed till the end of each match," instructions from the traffic cell state.
The Agalli-Fatorda junction near Modern Clinic will be closed. Only pass holders/ticket holders and local residents with passes will be allowed entry.
