Pooja Hegde has been roped in for a special number in Ram Charan starrer upcoming rural romantic-drama “Rangasthalam”, the makers announced on Thursday.

“We wanted it to be a surprise but the news got leaked. She has been brought on board for a special number which will be one of the highlights of the film,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

The song will be shot in a specially erected set in Hyderabad. Pooja will be seen matching steps with Ram Charan in the song. Directed by Sukumar, the film also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Aadi Pinisetty and Jagapathi Babu. Ram Charan, for the first time, will be seen in a full-length rural avatar.

The film, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad, has been predominantly shot against the backdrop of Godavari belt.

Pooja Hegde was last seen in Allu Arjun starrer Duvvada Jagannadham or DJ. In indianexpress.com review of the film, the role of the actor was described as, “Pooja Hegde has convincingly done the given job that is to look stunning in every frame of the film. Especially, she looks ravishing in all the song sequences. Rao Ramesh’s character that initially comes across as a clever antagonist, has been compromised just to benefit the DJ character. No other performances stand out in the film except Allu Arjun’s. It is a commercial entertainer made by the book and it works to some extent. And yes, composer Devi Sri Prasad’s music is a big plus and dance choreography is just the icing on the cake. If you can keep your expectations level low and watch the movie, it might just be the thing for a lazy weekend.”
