JAIPUR: Rajasthan High Court on Thursday gave a minor relief to the Kadda Basti residents who had to vacate their colony and move to the alternative accommodation allotted by depositing 10% of the cost for now.

The division bench of Justice KS Ahluwalia and Justice Prakash Gupta said the residents could be shifted to their flats allotted by the government by depositing 10% of the cost by Thursday while those who had opted for plots had to deposit 25% of the money. They need not deposit the entire money today and could shift to the accommodation by depositing 10% of the total cost of the flat, said the court. The court said the lease deed however could be issued only after they deposit the remaining money.

The JDA informed the court that 29 residents have opted for plots at Paladi Meena and the reaming residents have applied for flats. It said the allotment letter is ready. They have been allotted flats at Jaisingpura Khor.

The court said the MoU signed by the residents and the UDH would be continue to be in force. The high court had set October 5, the last date for vacating the Basti.
