Maruti Suzuki Celerio facelift launched at a staring price of Rs 4.15 lakh

In a bid to make the most of festive sales, Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker have introduced a refreshed version of its Maruti Suzuki Celerio. Maruti Suzuki claims to have sold over three lakh units its Celerio hatch in less than four years. Maruti Suzuki Celerio was also first car in company’s portfolio to get the auto-gear shift (AGS) technology back in 2014. The updated Celerio is available in 12 variants including two CNG variants. Maruti Suzuki Celerio has been priced between Rs 4.15 – 5.25 lakh (Ex-Delhi) and hosts changes to exteriors and interiors.

The face of Celerio gets a modern and contemporary look with redesigned front bumper and a distinct sporty mesh grille finished in chrome. All-black rear bumper gives the car a fresh look and fog lamps on the new bumper adds to the overall aggressive look wits modified lines across the bonnet of the car. There are minor changes to the interiors as well, the cabin is now finished in black-beige interiors, greige seat trims with new abstract pattern. Adding to this the Celerio gets silver accents, new seats and fabric design on the door panel.

Maruti Suzuki also claims that the Celerio is the seventh model in its line-up to meet pedestrian, offset and side impact regulations. Maruti Suzuki has committed to meet the new safety norms ahead of its timelines and Celerio is the latest to join after S-Cross, Baleno, Ciaz, Ertiga, IGNIS and Dzire. Maruti Suzuki Celerio comes with driver-side air-bag as a standard safety feature across all variants.
Mechanically, Maruti Suzuki continues to get the same 1.0L petrol engine  that sheds a power of 50 kW and 90 Nm of torque. Celerio gets the option of both 5-Speed  and AMT (AGS) gearbox. Maruti Suzuki Celerio is available with a factory fitted CNG kit as well. Over 36% of celerio buyers have preferred to but the AMT version of the car the top-end Z variant has contributed to about 48% of total Maruti Suzuki Celerio sales in the first half of 2017-18.
