After the release of ‘Judwaa 2’, Varun Dhawan, Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez are having the best time of their lives. The film will complete seven days at the box office, and it is just a few marks away from entering the Rs 100 crore club. It is difficult to say if the film will continue to be successful after the release of Saif Ali Khan ‘Chef’, or if the latter will have a tough time trying to survive at the box office.

“To some extent ‘Judwaa 2’ will remain a competition to ‘Chef’. It has done fantastic business and the mass has really loved the film. But ‘Chef’, as a new release, has an edge over ‘Judwaa 2’,” said trade analyst Girish Johar.

Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan with his back-to-back hits this year, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ and ‘Judwaa 2’, is not only giving serious competition to his contemporaries but also his seniors such as Akshay Kumar and Shah Rukh Khan.

On the very first day, ‘Judwaa 2’ was able to beat Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’ and gain the fourth spot in the list of the highest openers of 2017, leaving the superstar’s movie in the fifth position. By the end of the first weekend, Varun Dhawan was able to earn more than Akshay Kumar’s ‘Jolly LLB 2’ and ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, and secure the fifth position in the top 10 list of highest weekend grossers of 2017.

‘Judwaa 2’ is a remake of Salman Khan’s film ‘Judwaa’.
