UPTET 2017 admit cards: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test 2017 will begin from October 15 and the admit cards have released today at upbasiceduboard.gov.in. As many as 10,09,347 have applied for the exam of which, exam authority has rejected 32,587 applications. Therefore, 9.76 candidates will appear for the UPTET, says an Amar Ujala report.

Among these, 3,49,192 applications have been submitted for primary teachers and 6,27,568 applicants have applied for the higher primary. According to Secretary Examination Regulatory Authority, Dr Sutta Singh, NIC will determine the examination centers in all the 75 districts.

This year shiksha mitras (ad hoc teachers) who have been demanding permanent jobs will be allowed to appear for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). Those who qualify it will become eligible for the post of teachers.

Also, shiksha mitras will be given an additional 2.5 marks for each year of their experience — with 25 marks being the maximum one could get — when they sit for assistant teachers’ recruitment examinations, after qualifying TET.

The Uttar Pradesh basic education department will conduct the exam in two parts — for teachers of classes 1 to 5 and for those of classes 6 to 8. Objective type questions will be asked in the exam.
