BENGALURU: BJP has constituted its manifesto committee headed by MLA and former Law minister Suresh Kumar ahead of the 2018 Assembly election. The 17-member committee includes former minister Basavaraj Bommai, party vice-president Srinivas Prasad, MP Shivakumar Udasi, MLAs Lakshman Savadi, Dr Ashwath Narayan, former MP GS Basavaraj, Dr Vamanacharya,  RS member Prabhakar Kore, MLCs Ramachandra Gowda, K B Shanappa, retired IAS officers Madan Gopal, C Somashekar and others.

Speaking to reporters, Suresh Kumar came down heavily on actor Prakash Rai who has criticised Prime Minister Modi for his silence on the killing of journalist Gauri Lankesh. “What Prakash has spoken shows his immaturity. As an actor, he has played to the gallery. Prakash, who had refused to comment on the Cauvery river dispute on the ground that he was an actor sans geographic boundaries, is now abusing the PM. If he wants to become politically active, let him float his own party,”  Suresh Kumar said.
