Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones are set to launch today. The new flagship smartphones by Google will take on the mighty Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone X. Google will be hosting an event in San Francisco today at 9:00 AM PT, and in India, you will be able to watch the Google Pixel event at 9:30 PM. The new Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are hugely anticipated smartphones, and it is evident from the number of leaks and rumours we have witnessed regarding the mobiles. Google will launch the two smartphones, but it may also announce a few other gadgets like a new Chromebook and a Google mini Home speaker. Interestingly, some reports have even suggested a premium device with the name Ultra Pixel, but that is a bit unlikely.
Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL expected specs: Reports suggest that the phones will have a glass and metal body, similar to the previous Pixel devices. but this year they may be water resistant but may lose the headphone jack. The anticipation regarding the Pixel 2 XL is understandable, as it is expected to come with 6 inch Quad HD screen and the phone may have an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device could also pack stereo speakers in the body. In comparison, the Pixel 2 device may have the usual 16:9 ratio. In terms of battery, the Pixel 2 XL may have a 3520 mAh battery and the smaller Pixel 2 could feature a 2700 mAh battery.

Since Google has already launched the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, we expect the new devices to run on that. Interestingly, when it comes to the camera, most leaks have claimed that Google may not go the usual Dual-Camera way, and could contain a 12MP shooter at the back. When it comes to storage, both the devices are expected to have 4GB of RAM and may contain various types of memory models. It is expected that the device will pack the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC processor.

Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL expected price in India: Based on rumours, the Pixel 2 could be priced at around $649. This amount in Indian currency would be around Rs 42,000. However, the company may have to price the smartphone a bit higher in India due to various factors. Yet, we expect the price of the Pixel 2 in India to be around Rs 45,000. Meanwhile, the Pixel 2 XL is expected to come with a price tag of $849. This means that the phone in India will be priced somewhere between Rs 55,000 to Rs 60,000.

Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL expected availability in India: According to various leaks, Google could bring the Pixel 2 to the market on October 19 and the Pixel 2 XL on November 15. The company has already put up banners in India, advertising the phone. So, while we can expect that the Pixel devices would be available in India soon, there has been no confirmation on the same by Google.
