Mumbai: Charkop police arrested doctor from Kandivali in a molestation case

Mumbai: Charkop police have arrested a 35-year-old doctor in connection with a molestation case filed against him by a bar girl in June.

The police said the victim and the accused, residents of  MHADA building at Charkop in Kandivali (west),  are known to each other for the last more than one year. According to the police, there was financial dispute between the duo as the bar girl had given money to doctor, who had returned some of it. “In June the bar girl called the doctor to her flat where her friend was already present. The man and the victim had fight over the financial dispute. Later she reached Dindoshi police station to register complaint on June 16,” said a source.

The victim had alleged that the doctor had beaten her. Earlier the police had registered a Non-Congnisable (NC) offence in the matter. Later, after the intervention of media the police registered First Information Report (FIR) in the matter. After the FIR was registered, doctor applied for anticipatory bail in the sessions court but his bail plea was rejected and hence he faced arrest in the case.
