Indore: A vegetables trader and his 17-year-old son were killed after being hit by a speeding truck in front of Laxmibai Railway station at Bhagirathpura area on Tuesday morning. According to police, the deceased identified as 45-year-old Lakhan Mandwal, a resident of Sanwer Road was travelling to Sabzi Mandi with his son Shubham when a speeding vehicle hit their two-wheeler.
The duo fell off their vehicle and came under the wheel of truck, leading to their death. Passersby informed police officials about the accident after which they tried to identify the deceased. The family members of the deceased were out of the city, so the neighbours identified the body. Police have sent the body for autopsy and have seized the truck.
Hubby, in-laws booked for abetting suicide
Police booked four persons for demanding dowry and abetment of suicide of a woman in Datoda area on Monday. According to SImrol police, 25-year-old Roshni Dangi committed suicide by setting herself on fire on May 14. During investigation police found that the deceased’s husband Dharmendra, mother in-law Munnibai, father in-law Kailash and sister in-law Bhuri, all residents of Dangi Mohalla had demanded Rs 3 lakh dowry from her. When Roshni denied the accused started harassing her. Later, failing to bear the harassment, Roshni committed suicide, police said.
Youth hangs self
A 25-year-old youth committed suicide by hanging self in Annapurna area on Monday. The deceased Jagtap lives at an under construction building and is a plumber. The family members were watching TV on the ground floor and later, found Jagtap hanging in the first floor room.
Youth stabbed
A youth was stabbed by two persons after denying money for purchasing liquor in Nanda Nagar area on Monday. According to police, the victim Rohit Chauhan in his complaint alleged that was going somewhere when the accused Vishal and Akash stopped him and started demanding Rs 500 for purchasing liquor. When the victim denied the accused stabbed him.
Man electrocuted
In another incident, a 37-year-old man died due to electrocution in Hatod area on Monday. The deceased identified as Tejkaran, a resident of Khajuriya village was joining the new electric line on a pole when he got electrocuted and fell off the height to death.
Thief caught red handed
A man was caught attempting to steal a mobile phone from a shop in Aerodrome area near Vidyadham Temple on Monday. According to police, the complainant Tarun Gehlot, a resident of Manpasand Colony alleged that accused Raja, a resident of Ashoka Nagar visited his shop to purchase mobile phone and was caught attempting to steal a phone.
Two booked for stealing mobile
Police booked two persons for stealing mobile phones from a wine shop in Phooti Kothi area on Monday. The complainant Mahendra Panhalkar alleged that two unidentified accused stole mobile phones from the counter of the wine shop on September 30. When the complainant realised about the missing mobile phones and checked the CCTV footage he found the accused stealing the phones.
