The opposition parties in Adilabad district on Tuesday vowed to work unitedly against the government in future in view of its anti-farmer policies and other policies.
The Congress, BJP, CPI (M), CPI, Telangana TDP, Telangana Joint Action Committee and others were staging a satyagraha in front of the district collectorate here demanding withdrawal of GO 39 which facilitates formation of farmers’ coordination committees. Speaker after speaker at the three-hour protest programme criticised the government for selecting party cadres on the committees. They also pointed out that the FCCs would dilute the functions and powers of elected local bodies.
