Thousands thronged the village of Tai Hang in Hong Kong to watch a ‘fire dragon’ snake through the narrow paths of the village for 3 consecutive evenings. The dragon, 67 metres in length, billowed smoke, shook its head and tail to the beat of the drums and was lit with incense sticks. This was part of the celebrations for mid-autumn festival. Previously only Tai Hang men were allowed to part of dragon’s body, however, nowadays women have also become lead drummers.
