Aston Martin to produce luxury submarine with a price tag of Rs 26 crore
The company, which is looking to diversify its operations, expects to deliver the first submarine by late 2018

The makers of James Bond cars, Aston Martin is going to produce a submarine in collaboration with Triton Submarines who produces multi-million dollar submersibles for wealthy clients. Aston Martin will design the submarine and Triton will be in charge of producing it.
The venture has been named Project Neptune. Only a handful of submarines will be produced and it will be an exclusive product “that will redefine luxury and performance for a select few.”
This is the first time the British luxury carmaker is venturing into the submarine field. However, the company had unveiled a powerboat last year.
The company had established Aston Martin Consulting, the firm which collaborates with Triton, with an objective of providing design, engineering and manufacturing services to select industries.

“Project Neptune is a flagship project for Aston Martin Consulting. It is a clear and engaging demonstration of how Aston Martin’s expertise in sports car design and craftsmanship can be extended into new aspects of the luxury world,” said Bradley Yorke-Biggs, MD, Aston Martin Consulting.
The company, which is looking to diversify its operations, expects to deliver the first submarine by late 2018. According to CNN, the submarine will cost USD 4 million (over Rs 26 crore).
The company recently launched its six-year Second Century plan for sustainable long-term growth, under which company is looking to replace its entire sports car range.
