ICSI golden jubilee celebrated in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: Chairman of the Coir Board, ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises, C P Radhakrishnan on Wednesday asked the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and its stakeholders to dedicate themselves in making Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'New India' a reality.
Inaugurating the golden jubilee celebrations of the Institute of Company Secretaries (ICSI) here, he said company secretaries have a greater role play in nation's progress and complimented the institute for having been the torchbearer of good corporate governance for the last 50 years.
"Now it's time for company secretaries optimally unleash their professional acumen, seize the various opportunities offered by the government, perform a dual role -- firstly as a young professional and secondly as a company law expert," Radhakrishnan said.
"A company secretary can support the Government of India in realising 'ease of doing business' drive for entrepreneurs and enterprising businesses contributing towards New India," he added.
Chairman of ICSI Coimbatore chapter, A R Ramasubramania Raja briefed about the road institute had travelled during the last fifty years. Several new initiatives and publications of ICSI were launched on the occasion.
District collector T N Hariharan, Bharathiar University vice-chancellor A Ganapathi and registrar of companies, Tamil Nadu, K Latha Parimalavandana were also present.
