GURGAON: Police have finally arrested the son of an assistant sub-inspector of Haryana Police for alle gedly killing his father two weeks ago.

Mohit Yadav was nabbed in Jaipur by a team of Gurgaon police on Monday . He had gone into hiding the day ASI Naresh Kumar Yadav was found shot dead in the bedroom of his DLF-2 house.

TOI had reported earlier that the ASI's son was the prime accused in the case.

During interrogation, Mohit confessed to killing his father owing to persistent tiffs between them, cops said. Mohit often quarrelled with his father over his extra-marital affair for which he allegedly used to ignore his family. The accused also had been involved in some criminal activities in the past; this was another bone of contention between the father and son. "We are still interrogating him but so far he has confessed to killing ASI Naresh Kumar Yadav after they argued over the father's habit of coming home late and son's involvement in petty crimes," said inspector Sudeep Kumar, SHO, DLF-2 police station.

Police said that the accused will be produced in a city court by Wednesday and they will seek his custody for the recovery of the weapon used in his father's murder.

Yadav (44) , who was posted in Pali police chowki in Faridabad, was found dead by his wife, Sunita, in his Nathupur home in DLF-II area on19 September. During preliminary inquiry, Sunita informed the cops that her husband returned from Faridabad around 7.30pm on Monday and went to bed after dinner around 9.30pm. "But around 5am, I found him lying on the blood-soaked bed in his room," she told cops.

Mohit was nowhere to be found and his phone was also switched off since the murder; considering that he had a strained relationship with his father and that he went missing the day his father was found dead, police made him the prime suspect in the case. Yadav's family did not make any allegations in their complaint.
