HYDERABAD: Even as all opposition parties, along with the TJAC are agressively holding protests against formation of Rythu Samanvaya Samithis allegedly with TRS members, ordinary farmers too seem to have started organising similar protests.Opposing procedure of forming Rythu Samanvaya Samithis on nomination basis, people in more than 200 mandals came together on Tuesday and submitted representations to authorities in their respective mandals against the government’s move as per the call given by TJAC and opposition parties.

Farmers groups, unions and those working for them, claimed that the formation of these committees was taking place in an undemocratic way and the posts were most likely to be filled with ruling party members and those favourable to the government. GO Ms No 39 was issued to ease crisis being faced by farmers. Effective implementation of the investment support scheme.

“The total number of these posts will come to more than a lakh. The whole idea of setting up these committees is to strengthen the panchayat system. But it defeats the purpose, if they are nominated,” said Kiran Vissa of Rythu Swarajya Vedika. Interactions with sarpanches has revealed that the search is on to find those who are favourable to TRS government to fill these posts with no election. TJAC chairman M Kodandaram took part in protests organised at Moinabad and Shankarpally against the government’s move to form farmers’ committees.
