A Salman Khan fan, actor Shilpa Shinde promises to keep it real in Bigg Boss

Television actress Shilpa Shinde, who is in the thick of controversies after a major fallout with the makers of her popular series Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain was seen in a heated argument with her former producer Vikas Gupta in the première episode of the eleventh season of Bigg Boss. Either way, the attention she has been receiving since the controversy will continue to have its impact as she will be under continuous scrutiny of the television audience in the reality show. For someone pressed with controversies, she was relatively relaxed and confident for the show as she revealed what made her change her decision to join the reality show and what does she want to prove to her fans through the show in a telephonic interview before entering the house.

Excerpts:

What made you change your decision to join Bigg Boss?

I do not have many friends and I am someone who likes to have privacy in my life and in this context, the show is not something which I imagined joining. I am someone who is not very much into publicity as I do not even use social media frequently. That is why earlier I denied any news of me joining the show. This is destiny and I look at it positively. The way things turned out was very dramatic in real life and the show is also filled with controversies. I think this was planned by god (laughs).

So, would you like to clarify things through the show?

Exactly, that is the whole point. Some people know me personally but the majority of people are making judgements without even knowing the facts. People have misconceptions regarding me and the way things will turn out inside the house will reveal how I am in reality. My motive is to talk to my fans and audience directly.

Were you following Bigg Boss in its earlier seasons?

I had seen the some previous episodes as I knew few contestants personally. When you work for a television show, you really never get a chance to watch stuff. I did watch a couple of episodes as a part of my research for the show. Saturdays and Sundays were only for Salman Khan.

Are you a Salman Khan fan?

It has its perk of meeting and talking to him. The only other thing which attracted me to the show was Salman Khan.

Do you think yourself as a person who can win people and deal situations with strategies, something crucial for the show?

I really do not know how people react and what is in their minds. I am not a diplomatic person. I cannot act loud or abuse someone to make my presence felt among the fellow members. I just decide for today and I do not plan or have a strategy for the future. Everyone asked me not to indulge in fights and I told them I never start any fight. It is just reactions which I give to anyone else’s actions and I will follow that only.

Do you see it as just another acting assignment or will viewers get to know the ‘real’ you?

In real life, I do not act and everyone has seen it that I have openly said what I was going through. So, there will not be any acting inside the house. People know me more as Bhabhiji from a television show but I am going to tell them who I am in real life. It is a chance to come out of the role of a television character and the real Shilpa will talk to people.
