Work hard to recover arrears: Mayor to NMC employees

Nagpur: Mayor Nanda Jichkar on Tuesday indicated that Nagpur Municipal Corporation employees would get their dearness allowance before Diwali if they show the desired performance. Speaking to a delegation of NMC employees, the mayor assured that no harm would be caused to them under any situation.

A delegation of NMC employees met the mayor and submitted a memorandum demanding the 59-month Dearness Allowance of 6th Pay Commission before this Diwali.

The mayor said, there has been a financial crisis in front of NMC. "Once the property taxes are recovered, the employee's dues can be paid off easily. Even the employees should strive for it," the mayor said. Chief accounting and finance officer Madan Gadge updated the monthly financial balance of the NMC during the meeting.

Issues regarding promotions of employees working in class 4 and 3 as well as for the promotion of educated cleanliness workers were also discussed.


On that, municipal commissioner, Ashwin Mudgal said that cleanliness workers will be promoted as per rules. On being asked about the suspension of the suspended employee, Mudgal guaranteed that the employee will be awarded the job after being found innocent.


Previously, in the month of July, the delegation of the organization had met Jichkar and stated their demands and had requested for a quick action regarding the same. However, at that time, no prompt action was taken as per the directions given by the mayor and she had further promised to talk to the concerned officials.


Organizational secretary, Domaji Bhadang, treasurer, Omkar Lakhe, union minister Ritesh Kashikar, vice-president Arun Mogarkar, secretary Sunil Tambe, Pushpa Butte, Meena Naqwal, Sushma Rathod, Sudhir Fating, Vishal Shewale and Gajanan Jadhav along with deputy mayor Deepraj Pardikar, Mudgal, former mayor Praveen Dutt, Pratod Divya Dhurde, civil society and project special committee chairman Sanjay Bangale, chairman of dirty habitation eradication committee Chetna Tank, medical services and health committee chairman Manoj Chapale, corporator Pintu Zalke, additional commissioner RZ Siddiqui, Gadge, Health Officer D Pradeep Dasrwar, organizational executive Rajesh Hathibed were also present at the meeting.
