27 SIs transferred

Coimbatore: As many as 27 sub-inspectors serving in the rural police department were transferred internally in the city on Wednesday based on the direction of the superintendent of police, Pa Murthy. Sources said many SIs had served for more than three years in a particular station and some had petitioned seeking transfers. Many were transferred due to medical reasons. The transfers happened in stations such as Annur, Thudiyalur, Sirumugai, Sulur, Chettipalayam, Perur, Karumathamapatti, Alandurai, Vadavalli, Negamam, Vadakkipalayam and Valparai. Some were also transferred to wings such as special branch, special branch (cyber-crime) and serious crime squad. Some of the SIs were serving On Duty and were transferred to that station itself such as P Muniasamy in Thudiyalur police station, P Senthil Kumar in Sirumugai police station and P Rajan in Annur police station.tnn
