As part of its 2025 Strategy, Czech automaker Skoda is expanding its model range with an extensive SUV campaign. The launch of the company’s first 7-seater SUV - the all-new Skoda Kodiaq, in India on 4 October, is a testimony to the same strategy.
The globally successful Skoda Kodiaq has been priced quite competitively in the Indian market, and has been placed at par with the likes of Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour, Volkswagen Tiguan, and Isuzu mu-X.
Since its global launch in September 2016, Skoda Kodiaq has sold 48,300 units as of August 2017. Before we ponder upon how the large SUV will going to serve Skoda Auto in India, it becomes significant to compare the vehicle with its four main competitors.

Price
Skoda Kodiaq, introduced in just one variant in the country, has been priced quite high when compared with its rivals.
The price of Toyota Fortuner extends up to Rs 31,47,500, and of Ford Endeavour up to Rs 31,40,100.
The new Volkswagen Tiguan costs up to Rs 30,87,611, and Isuzu mu-X up to Rs 25,54,772.

Powertrain
Out of the five vehicles, only Toyota Fortuner comes with a petrol engine. Rest all comes with only diesel engine. Toyota Fortuner comes equipped with 2694cc DOHC, Dual VVTi petrol engine mated with a 5-manual/6-automatic transmission. The engine churns out 166PS of maximum output and 245Nm of maximum torque.
