Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who is currently in Ranchi to promote his forthcoming production venture ‘Ranchi Diaries’, visited ace wicketkeeper-batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s home. He said that the cricketer’s 2-year-old daughter Ziva is a “genius and an entertainer”.

Anupam played the role of Dhoni’s father Pan Singh in his 2016 biopic ‘M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story’. The actor took to Twitter on Tuesday to share few photographs in which he can be seen alongside Dhoni and his father.

The image in which he is seen posing with Dhoni was captioned as, “#Sakshi & @msdhoni’s daughter #Ziva is a genius & an entertainer. She can really sing loudly, including our #NationalAnthem. God bless her,” while the other with Dhoni and his father read as, “Dear #Sakshi & @msdhoni!! Thank you for your warmth & hospitality. Loved ur new home. Meeting parents is always a blessing.🙏 #RanchiDiaries.”

Not only this, the ‘Ranchi Diaries’ team — including actors Himansh Kohli and Soundarya Sharma and writer-director Sattwik Mohanty — also met Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das to thank him for the support that the government extended to the film.

“In the last couple of years, the Jharkhand government has been very forthcoming and supportive of the films that are being made to spread awareness about the cultural heritage and tourism of the state,” Anupam said in a statement.

“We are very fortunate to have been given this (support) by the CM. It was a pleasure meeting him today (Tuesday). He also said that they are trying to make the film tax free since the whole film is shot here,” he added.

‘Ranchi Diaries’ follows the story of Gudiya, played by debutante Soundarya and her friends, Taaha Shah and Himansh , who are out to make it big in a small town (Ranchi). It is Anupam’s first production.

Directed by Sattwik Mohanty, ‘Ranchi Diaries’ also stars Jimmy Shergill, Harry Bala and Pradeep Singh. The film is slated for release on October 13.
