BENGALURU: Three young men were run over by a train as they tried to take a selfie on the railway tracks in Bengaluru on Monday morning. The incident occurred near the amusement park Wonderla on the outskirts of the city.
The three have been identified as Prateek, Rohit and Prabhu, students of Pre University Course (PUC) in Bengaluru.
The three were headed towards Wonderla and left home around 6.15 am and had stopped at an underpass on the way around 9.15 am, above which two sets of railway tracks pass. The three decided to take selfies with the Chamundi train in the background which was headed towards Bengaluru from Mysuru and stood on the parallel set of tracks waiting for the train.

As they were focused on the approaching Chamundi express, they did not hear the Mysore-Sholapur Gol Gumbaz Express which had just left Bengaluru, rushing towards them on the tracks they stood on. All the three were killed instantaneously.
Rohit was a student of National College in Jayanagar and a resident of Hulimavu had hopped pillion on one the bikes. Both Bidadi police and Railway police are at the spot.
