Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who is leading the Bharatiya Janata Party's 'Jan Suraksha Yatra' in Kerala's Kannur raked up the issues of love jihad, Islamic extremist and political violence on Wednesday. The firebrand Hindutva leader became the face of BJP's protest today even as the CPI(M) lashed out at the party for attempting to create communal unrest in the state.
"The political killings of BJP and RSS workers are instances of state-sponsored terror. The left parties have no tolerance towards other political parties and this has to stop. It is against the Indian democracy and the CPI(M) government is only supporting such instances. The yatra will hold a mirror to their deeds. We will stand by our workers," Yogi Adityanath told media persons during the yatra.
Raking up the issue of love jihad, Yogi accused the government of turning a blind eye to it. He urged the government to check instances deeming them a dangerous trend. The CPI(M), however, attacked the BJP over the yatra accusing the party of attempting to create communal disharmony in the state.
CPI(M) stands for uplifting the most backward in India and upholding of India's vibrant pluralism. That makes the BJP most uncomfortable.

The National president of the party, Amit Shah, however, decided to cut his visit short citing 'party work' and returned to Delhi. Amit Shah's one-day event in Mangaluru scheduled to take place on Wednesday has been canceled abruptly.
Yogi Adityanath is adding the saffron tinge to left's red bastion- Kannur. Amit Shah- who inaugurated the yatra against 'rise of extremism and political violence under the CPI(M) regime'- was expected to take part in the padayatra for three days, until Thursday. On Wednesday, the BJP national president was to visit Mangaluru but the same has been canceled. Mangaluru unit of the BJP claimed that Shah had to return to Delhi over party work and his program has been postponed indefinitely.
The Kerala BJP unit has however maintained that Amit Shah's Mangaluru event has been canceled but he would return on Thursday to lead the padayatra once again. Yogi Adityanath's inclusion to lead the padayatra came at the last minute on Tuesday with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh deciding on introducing the 'Hindutva idol' into the protest.
