BENGALURU: After evading arrest for five days, former MP and liquor baron Adikeshavalu’s grandson Geetha Vishnu was held in Bengaluru by Central Crime Branch (CCB) officials on Tuesday.
City police commissioner T Sunil Kumar confirmed the arrest, adding that more information would be disclosed after an interrogation. CCB sources said: “Vishnu has surrendered before ACP of the CCB. Someone called from a pay phone and gave the location. It was probably Vishnu himself. He will be produced before magistrate on Wednesday afternoon.”
Vishnu had rammed his SUV into a Maruti Omni near South End Circle injuring six people on Thursday. Police found 300 gm of marijuana in Vishnu’s car. A case was registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Vishnu was admitted to Mallya hospital. On Friday morning, he escaped from the hospital.
