Models of rockets and satellites to be displayed from October 7 to 9

The Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC), in association with Koneru Lakshmaiah University (KLU), will organise three-day ‘World Space Week-2017’ celebrations from October 7 to 9, on the university campus, said SDSC SHAR General Manager P. Sunil.

As part of the celebrations, the services being rendered by space scientists to the nation will be explained to the general public in the exhibition, said Mr. Sunil at a press conference organised here on Tuesday.

“In the last few decades, ISRO has crossed many milestones on space researches and its centres have made remarkable achievements. Particularly, students are very much interested to know about the launches of the space organisation,” said KLU vice-president Koneru Raja Hareen.

Science Expo

The theme of the World Space Week is to explain the activities of ISRO. Models of different rockets and the satellites launched by SHAR will be displayed and the benefits to the country on the projects will be explained to the visitors, Mr. Hareen said.

Besides, video clippings of the launchings, paper and poster presentations, quiz and other competitions will be conducted for students, said SHAR Deputy General Manager S. Shambu Prasad.

Engineer D. Ravi, KL University Civil Engineering head of the department V. Ranga Rao and others were present.

All are invited to visit the science exhibition.
