All three of the BSF jawans who got injured in the gun fight with terrorists are now stable, officials said. The operation took longer than it would have because civilian safety had to be ensured, they said.
Kashmir police also confirmed that there was no security lapse at the BSF camp and said that the attack was not a setback for Indian security forces.
Kashmir police has said that 25 terrorists entered Kashmir in July and 6-7 of them are still at large, adding that the hunt for them is ongoing.
The gun fight between BSF and the terrorists has ended and BSF and Kashmir police have confirmed that there was no collateral damage as a result of the attack.
There are multiple TV reports claiming the gun fight at the BSF camp in Srinagar has finally ended. Three terrorists were shot down and the BSF lost one of its own in a battle started at 04:30 IST this morning.
“Two terrorists holed up in an administrative building and JCO Mess. The operation is still underway. The senior officers are monitoring it. We assure that soon the operation will be over. The operation is going on in a much planned manner. There is a proper coordination between JKP, Indian Army, CRPF, and BSF,” Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh told ANI.
BSF officials have said that firing is still taking place at irregular intervals inside the camp.
A caller identifying himself as a spokesperson of Jaish-e-Mohammed told local news agencies that the outfit was responsible for the attack on the BSF camp on Srinagar.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir has said that the terrorists have to pay the price for daring to enter a BSF camp. The attack is a challenge to us, he said.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has said that the BSF conducted a good operation and that the one terrorist still holed up inside the camp will be neutralised soon.
There are multiple reports by TV channels saying fresh gunfire has just been heard at the camp. Stay tuned for more updates.

BSF officials have said that a BSF sub-inspector was killed in the face off with the terrorists. There are also unconfirmed reports of a third terrorist being killed a short while ago in the fire fight.
Passengers scheduled to fly out of Srinagar have finally been asked to proceed toward the airport. Incoming flights from New Delhi are expected to land shortly.
According to police officials in the area, one terrorist is still holed up inside a building within the camp. BSF is now combing the entire camp.
Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed's 'Afzal Guru' squad has claimed responsibility for the attack. A group of the surviving terrorists are still holed up in the camp.
The attack started at 04:30 IST when the terrorists reportedly entered the 182 battalion of the BSF camp outside the Airforce station of Gogo Humhama.
A group of terrorists reportedly attacked a Border Security Force camp in Srinagar in the early hours of Tuesday resulting in a fire fight involving BSF jawans. The camp was located near Srinagar International Airport.
According to media reports, 2 of the terrorists have been shot dead by security forces, while 3 jawans and 1 policeman were injured in the attack. Some of the terrorists are still believed to be holed up inside the camp and an operation to flush them out of there is currently underway.
Flight services were suspended in light of the attack but are expected to resume shortly.
