Reacting to reports of UP CM Yogi Adityanath visiting Kerala tomorrow, CPI(M), the ruling party in the state, took a jibe at him. CPM tweeted: “We invite UP CM Yogi to visit Kerala Hospitals to learn how to run Hospitals effectively!” CPM was reacting to a news report from Times Now. The tweet virtually referred to the child deaths in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur where a number of children had died allegedly due to negligence. The news reports of Adityanath’s Kerala visit come hours after  BJP chief Amit Shah announced a two-week ‘padyatra’ in the state from Wednesday against the CPM’s alleged targeting of his party’s workers.

Shah held Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan responsible for the violence in the state. Addressing a rally in the CPM bastion, also the hometown of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Shah said that workers were victims of “political murders”. BJP chief is currently in Kannur to launch a fortnight-long march, called Jan Raksha Yatra, by the party in the state to protest alleged political violence by the Left party.

Shah also said his party would use democratic means to fight Left rule in the state. “CPI(M) leader and Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan is directly responsible for all political murders in Kerala,” he alleged. BJP claimed that as many as 120 BJP workers, 84 in Kannur alone, have been killed in the state since 2001, while fourteen have been killed in Kannur since the CPI(M) came to power last year, PTI reports
