Ghee vendor falls down lift shaft and dies in Andhra Pradesh

RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: In a freak mishap, a 65-year-old man died after falling down the lift shaft of an apartment complex in Rajamahendravaram, Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday

Yerramsetti Gangaraju was a ghee vendor hailing from Kadari village in Tanuku mandal in West Godavari district. He occasionally comes to Rajamahendravaram to sell his wares.

On Tuesday, he went to sell ghee to his customers at Chakravarti Ford Apartments. While returning, he opened the lift door on the second floor and stepped in assuming that the lift was there. But he fell down the well and sustained head injuries. He died on the spot.

Police shifted the body to a government hospital for a post-mortem procedure. A case has been registered.
